My name is Vivien and I’m so glad you’re here! 🙌
I love beautiful things. But I also like to save money. I’m guessing a lot of people can relate to that!
Posh Pennies is the result of my passion for stylish home decor combined with my obsession with finding bargains online.

You don’t need a lot of money to have a beautiful home, you just need to know where to look 🙂
Who am I?
I’m Vivien, a half Italian, half British person living in Canada with my Husband and Dog.
Dog owner of a high-maintenance little Yorkshire Terrier named Zelda “Ziggy”.
God bless her.
Happily married to a Swedish weirdo with a strange name.
Night owl – Every morning is more painful than the last. In my relentless efforts to improve, I’ve started getting up at 8 every morning including weekends, that’s the best I can do 🙂
How can I help you?

After years of working hard in the film industry, putting in far too many hours and being bound to a city that was way too expensive, in 2017 I finally decided to break free and combine my two passions into a living.
Namely: Bargain Hunting and Interior Decor!
The road here was not a straight line however, it was rocky and slippery and it’s still far from over!
I worked for many years in the film industry bouncing back and forth between working on movie sets in the production, props and set decoration departments, and a more comfy job in visual effects.
Working on set in the decoration department is where I found my passion for home decor. I love how you can convey a certain mood by which colors, shapes and styles you put in a room. As movies are all about mood and emotion, I was put through an interior design boot camp which has helped me provide a different angle and an edge when it comes to decorating a regular home.
The film industry is thought to be quite glamorous and fun, and it is, but it also comes with a lot of stress and sleepless nights. My husband and I were living in London, it was the summer of 2017, when one day, I decided I had had enough. I walked into my boss’s office and handed in my letter of resignation.
It was scary and I honestly had NO IDEA what I was going to do, but I knew it was the right thing to do.
I started selling things on Etsy; paintings, prints, vintage items I found around town in London. I even got into manufacturing products and selling them on Amazon! While these attempts worked, it never quite felt right and obstructions along the way made me eventually give up those ideas. I still do sell a little bit on Etsy though 🙂
One day a friend of mine told me about how she had created a lifestyle blog and how she was starting to make a living off it. And in those 5 seconds, EVERYTHING fell into place, then and there, I knew what I was going to do.
I had always spent so much time on the internet finding good deals on just about anything, I even helped friends look for items they wanted. And I was always scouring interior design websites looking for ideas that I could turn into DIY projects. I also did a lot of upcycling at the time; London is packed with antique furniture pieces that are in need of a bit of love. I would refinish vintage pieces and resell them for a small profit.
This was my chance: I could turn my passion for home decor, combined with my obsession for finding good deals into an actual income! I was going to make a website about how to achieve a luxurious, fresh look for a bargain. Basically, you get posh… for pennies 🙂
So, after a lot of hard work, this little ol’ website is finally starting to take shape!
I’m hoping that one day soon my husband can quit his day job as well, allowing us to move away from the city and settle down. I am working hard every day on this website and on my YouTube channel to make that a reality.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you find something you like on my blog 🙂 If you want to get in touch, I would love to hear from you! Please drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org ♥
